Putting together the history of the MCW championship has proven to be a much bigger challenge than I had ever anticipated, a task made even more tedious by MCW's policy of not giving away the results to their event. I have therefore had to rely on photos and video of MCW events posted by fans to help piece it all together... or at least as much as possible. It's still incomplete but we plan to add to it whenever we find more information. If you would like to contribute photos or video to help reconstruct the title history as well as the results section please send them to our Facebook at this link. We are grateful for any help you can give us.
The MCW Championship is like no other championship in Professional Wrestling. In addition to having to defend against the top contenders in one on one matches, the champion will often be called upon to defend the championship in a Battle Royal (or Royal Rumble) on a moments notice. As a result a champion can lose his belt without being defeated. It also means that a champion often has to defend the belt multiple times per night! That means to retain the title you must WIN and win consistently! Those kind of odds make it extremely difficult to hold onto the Championship which tends to change hands frequently. In the beginning, the championship was more like a trophy for winning that night's main event (usually a Battle Royal or Royal Rumble) than a traditional wrestling championship per say and new champions were crowned on an almost nightly basis. It was not until the TV series when Demo won the title in a Battle Royal on 03/04/10 during the taping of the pilot of Hulk Hogan's Micro Championship Wrestling that the championship started to be defended by the reigning champion.
On August 24, 2011 Hulk Hogan introduced a new Championship belt as Blixx became the first recognized MCW World Champion after defeating Demo in a tournament final.
